Is it necessary to go to a lawyer to complete a will?

An individual can make a legal and binding will without having to go to a lawyer; but there are a number of things that a person attempting to complete a will on their own should remember. It is important to be aware that not just any document written by an individual will be considered a binding will. The succession law reform act provides for specific minimum requirements needed to make a will binding.
If an individual completes a will on their own that does not comply with these requirements it will not be a binding will.
